DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Friday sent Jatiya Party (JP) lawmaker from Mymensingh-7 constituency (Trishal) MA Hannan and three others to jail in a case filed for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

The other three include, his son Rafique Sajjad, Dr Khandaker Golam Sabbir and Mizanur Rahman Mintu.

The court of Judge Hasibul Haque of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court sent them to jail.

On Thursday (October 1), police arrested five accused -- MA Hannan, his son Rafique Sajjad from Dhaka, and Dr Khandaker Golam Sabbir, Harmuj ali and Mizanur Rahman Mintu from Mymensingh.

Of them, Harmuj Ali sustained injuries as the police van carrying him was damaged in a road accident.

Currently Harmuj Ali is being treated at Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.

Earlier, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) issued arrest warrant against eight war crimes accused.

On May 19, Rahima Khatun, wife of martyred freedom fighter Commander Abdur Rahim, filed a case against three.
