DHAKA: A clash between the BNP men and leaders and activists of ‘Asal BNP’ occurred centering the occupation of BNP headquarters in city’s Nayapaltan area on Saturday.

Scores were injured in the incident that took place in front of the BNP central office around 4:00pm.

Moreover, police opened several rounds of blank fires to keep the situation under control.

Locals said that a group of over one hundred men, under the leadership of BNP reformist Qamrul Hasan Nasim gathered at Nayapaltan to take the BNP central office in their control.

However, around three hundred BNP men were staying in front of the office, they added.

The clash erupted as leaders and activists of ‘Asal BNP’ tried to enter the office.

Later, police opened blank fires to clam the situation.

BNP men are staying in front of the office and the ‘Asal BNP’ men have left the place, witnesses said.

Additional police forces have been deployed in front of the office to avert any untoward situation.
