DHAKA: Five Jamaat leaders, who were arrested earlier from city’s Banasree area, are remanded for 10 days each.
Metropolitan magistrate Yousof Hossain on Sunday (January 3) granted 10 days remand for each in two cases responding to the 20-day remand plea.
Earlier, Rampura Thana police produced the arrestees before Dhaka CMM court.
The remand appeal was granted on the basis of two law suits – anti-terrorism and money laundering.
The remanded Jamaat leaders included party’s central office accountant Mohammad Gias Uddin (55), assistant accountants Mohammad Aminur Rahman (56), Sahadatur Rahman (43) and Osman Gani (40) and pion Abul Hashem (32).
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, police arrested the Jamaat men from city’s Banasree area. The law enforcers also seized materials of explosive, Tk over 1-crore and some jihad-oriented literatures.
