RANGPUR: An Awami League (AL) ward president died on Sunday (May 22), two days after he was beaten severely at Sadar upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Abul Hossain (55), also a local Union Parishad (UP) member.

Locals said that Abul Hossain was badly beaten by his brothers Ershad Mia and Mominul Islam over family feud. Later he was rescued and rushed to the hospital.

Abul’s nephew told banglanews that Abul survived for last two days, later doctor declared him dead this morning. 

Kotwali Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) ABM Jahidul Islam informed banglanews that the body has been sent to morgue for autopsy.
