BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed today demanded the trial of judges who, according to him, played a role in establishing 'fascism' in Bangladesh.
Speaking at a discussion organized by the Nationalist Research Foundation at the Jatiya Press Club, Rizvi named judges like Khairul Haque, Enayetur Rahim, and Asaduzzaman, accusing them of supporting the regime's alleged autocratic rule.
Rizvi also said the prolonged imprisonment of BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia, claiming that Justice Asaduzzaman played a key role in keeping her behind bars through false cases.
He drew parallels to the Nuremberg trials, suggesting that if Nazi judges were held accountable, so should Bangladeshi judges who helped prolong the "fascism" of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government.
The BNP leader further criticized the ongoing legal cases against six million BNP leaders and activists, which remain unresolved even eight months after the fall of Hasina's government.
Rizvi called for the immediate withdrawal and disposal of these cases by the interim government.
The event was chaired by Syed Abdal Ahmed, with keynotes delivered by BNP International Affairs Secretary Nasir Uddin Ahmed.
Other notable speakers included BNP Information Secretary Azizul Bari Helal and Natore District BNP Joint Convener Farzana Sharmin.
