BNP in meeting with National Consensus Commission again

The BNP has started meeting once again today (April 20)with the National Consensus Commission, formed by the interim government, to discuss ongoing reform proposals.

The meeting began at 11 am at the LD Hall Conference Room in the National Parliament Building.

A four-member BNP delegation, led by Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed, attended the meeting.

Speaking to reporters before the meeting, Salahuddin Ahmed said the party would inform the commission of its stance on previously disputed issues after internal discussions.

“BNP is cooperating with the Reform Commission with transparency and sincerity. We hope the reform talks will conclude today,” he said.

Other members of the BNP delegation included Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairperson’s Adviser Ismail Zabihullah, former Secretary Abu Mohammad Moniruzzaman, and Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal.

The meeting was presided over by Professor Ali Riaz, Vice Chairman of the National Consensus Commission and Head of the Constitutional Reform Commission.

Commission members Badiul Alam Majumdar, Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain, and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haider were also present.

Earlier, on Thursday (April 17), BNP held its previous meeting with the Consensus Commission.
