DHAKA: A local Awami League (AL) leader, named Rajib Hasan, 38, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Rokanpur area of Dholaikhal in the capital on Friday (July 8) night.

Sutrapur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tapan Chandra Saha confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Rajib was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with bullet wound and doctors declared him dead there, OC added.

Police has started investigating into the murder, he said further.
