DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday (February 15) categorically said there won’t be any election in the country if the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia is sent to jail in any false case.
He further said no countrymen will participate in any election if Khaleda Zia is convicted in any false case.
The BNP leader was addressing a discussion program, organized by their ally National Peoples Party (NPP), at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the afternoon.
Fakhrul further said BNP’s participation in the next general election is depending on the polls-time government and the role of the newly formed election commission.
He also slammed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her bitter criticism against Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus saying the entire world is showing honor to him.
NPP Chairman Fariduzzaman Farhad presided over the program where Jatiya Party’s (Kazi Zafar) Mostafa Jamal Haider, JAGPA chief Shafiul Alam Pradhan, NPP secretary general Mostafizur Rahman and Democratic League general secretary Saifuddin Ahmed Moni also addressed.
