DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has commented that the present government will never come in the talks table to discuss about the next elections.
He made the comment at a memorial meeting at the National Press Club in the city on Thursday (July 27).
Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad, the pro-BNP platform of professionals, arranged the meeting in memory of former adviser to the caretaker government Prof Dr MA Mazed.
Convener of the organization and Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman presided over the meeting, while former vice chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Emajuddin Ahmed, DU teacher Prof Dr Sadrul Amin and Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury of Gonosastya Kendra also spoke it, among others.

Nazrul Islam Khan said that the Awami League government knows about their defeat in a participatory election. So, it won’t come in the talks table. It won’t realize the demand of holding the next elections under an election-time supportive government, he said.
The BNP leader, however, said that the government would be compelled to hold the next elections under an election-time neutral government.
