BOGRA: Police detained at least eight BNP leaders of Shibganj upazila unit of Bogra as they were allegedly trying to commit sabotage act.   

The BNP leader was held in a drive conducted from Friday midnight (Aug 04) to Saturday morning (August 05).

The detainees were identified as Abdul Razzaq, general secretary of Shibganj upazila BNP, former president ABM Kamal Selim, Bulbul Islam, municipal unit secretary of BNP, general secretary Abdul Karim, joint general secretary Nazmul Haque Mithu, BNP president of Kichok union, Doza Fakir, joint general Abdul Alim and Thana student group vice- President Shahinur Rahman Robi.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station Shahid Mahmud Khan confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.

A case will be filed against the detainees, the OC said.
