DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has undergone a surgery on one of her eyes in London.

The surgery was a successful one, operated at Moorfields Eye Hospital in City Road of the United Kingdom city on Tuesday evening (August 8).

Quoting her secretary ABM Sattar in London, the BNP chief’s Press wing official Shayeerul Kabir Khan told Banglanews that Khaleda returned to her elder son also BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman’s residence after completion of the surgery.    

However, the BNP chief requested the countrymen for praying for her, said Shayeerul. 

Earlier, Khaleda Zia left here for London on July 15.

BNP senior leaders saw her off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
