DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the government has lost the moral rights to cling to the power due to failure, misrule and misdeeds.
He made the comment while speaking at a doa mahfil at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city on Saturday (August 12).
Jatiyatabadi Juda Dal, the youth body of the BNP, arranged the prayers seeking early recovery of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in London for treatment purpose.
Juba Dal president Saiful Islam Nirob presided over the function, while BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed also spoke it, among others.
Mirza Fakhrul came down heavily on the government for its failure in resolving Hajj flight, traffic jam and water logging in the city and different other problems. The ruling party cann’t govern. So, the government should resign, he commented.
He said that the ruling Awami League’s reaction over 16th amendment verdict is irrelevant and unlawful. The verdict is a historic verdict. “The reaction to the verdict is further proof that the government has no moral right to remain in the power,” he said.
