NOAKHALI: Police detained 26 local leaders and activists of Sweccha Sebok Dal, a wing of BNP, from Sonaimuri upazila on Friday evening (September 15).

Joint Convener of District unit Sweccha Shebok Dal Jahangir Alam said that police deatined them along with their vehicles on the way to a meeting in upazila BNP office

However, district BNP leaders condemned the incident as there were no cases filed against the detainees.

Additional Superintendent of Police AKM Jahirul Islam said that the detainees were intending to hold a secret meeting.
