DHAKA: Law Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday (Oct 5) visited the Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, who is currently on one month due to physical illness, at the latter’s residence.

The minister went to Chief Justice’s residence at 4:05pm and left at 4:39pm after the meeting. He made no comments to reporters during this time.

Earlier in the day, the law minister went to Supreme Court to meet with acting chief justice Md Abdul Wahab Mia around 2:00pm. Anisul assured the acting CJ of full cooperation from ministry.

While Anisul was in Supreme Court, reporters asked him about the condition of CJ Sinha. In response he said, “I haven’t talked to CJ’s doctors today.”

In response to a query whether he will visit the CJ or not, the minister said, “Of course, I will visit the CJ after talking to his physicians.”

Anisul also told reporters, “I have assured full cooperation of the law ministry to Justice Abdul Wahab Mia as acting Chief Justice. Earlier two other justices also acted as Chief Justice and we supported them too because, the Ministry of Law is the bridge between the Executive Division and the judiciary.”
