Dissolve parliament, deploy army: Jatiya Party

DHAKA: HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party has proposed dissolution of the current 10th parliament and deployment of armed forces in creating environment for the next national elections.

The party during dialogue with the Election Commission (EC) on Monday (October 09) also proposed formation of a neutral election-time government to oversee the 11th general elections. The government will be formed dissolving the Parliament.  

A 25-member delegation of Jatiya Party, led by HM Ershad, took part in the electoral dialogue with the EC held at the EC building in the city.

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda chaired the dialogue.

Jatiya Party placed an 8-point proposal at the dialogue.

The party said that the election-time government will be formed dissolving the parliament and the members of interim cabinet will have to be appointed on the recommendations of political parties' chiefs.
