DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday night (October 10) detained nine top leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami including its ameer and secretary general from a house in Dhaka’s Uttara.

They are-- Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Golam Parwar, Ameer Maqbul Ahmed, Secretary General Dr Shafikur Rahman Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam, Shafikur Rahman’s personal assistant Nazrul Islam, Chittagong district (South) Ameer Jafor Sadiq, Metropolitan Amir M Shahjahan and Secretary Nazrul Islam. 

Detectives and Criminal Investigation Department (North) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sheikh Nazmul Alam told Banglanews that they have nabbed the nine Jamaat leaders from a house in sector-6, Uttara.

The detainees were holding a secret meeting to plan sabotage activities.
