DHAKA: BNP senior joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the BNP-led 20-party alliance will come up with a single candidate to compete in the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral polls. 

He said it in a meeting at the National Press Club on Tuesday (January 9).

Rizvi said BNP will participate in the DNCC by-polls. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and other 20-party leaders will choose the unified candidate. 

“People in Dhaka are fed up with crimes, murder, and forced disappearance committed by the government. We want to relieve people from these constant worry and decided to run for DNCC mayoral post.”
