DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has termed the verdict in Zia Orphanage case against Khaleda Zia as conspiratorial.

“This is pure conspiracy. The verdict was given to keep Khaleda away from politics and polls”, he said.

The senior BNP leader made the remarks to reporters on Thursday afternoon (February 08) in response to the verdict.

Fakhrul also claimed that the verdict reflects the politics of vengeance. It is totally baseless and will not be accepted to people. 

When asked about party’s next move on this matter, he said, “We will decide our next course of action according to the law soon.”
