The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as the new pace bowling coach of the national side.
The 42-year-old Tait has signed a deal that runs through to November 2027 and is expected to link up with the team later this month.
Tait, known for his express pace during his playing days, brings a wealth of coaching experience to the role. He has previously worked with the national teams of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the West Indies Test squad, along with several franchise teams across the globe. His coaching résumé includes stints in the BPL, BBL, PSL, LPL, and English County cricket.
Sharing his thoughts on the new role, Tait said, “It’s an exciting time to be part of Bangladesh cricket. There’s been a lot of talk about the young pace talent in the squad, which is encouraging. This is international cricket, and there’s an expectation for results—that’s what I’ll be focusing on with the fast bowling group.”
He also said, “Working alongside Phil Simmons makes the opportunity even more appealing, and I’m really looking forward to what lies ahead.”
