Dhaka has been ranked the city with the worst air quality, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) score of 254, classifying the air as "very unhealthy."
This marks a significant environmental concern as the city battles high pollution levels, especially in winter.
Cairo, Delhi, and Hanoi follow with AQI scores of 242, 239, and 230, respectively. Air quality readings between 201 and 300 are categorized as "very unhealthy," with serious health risks.
The AQI in Dhaka is based on pollutants like PM2.5, PM10, NO2, CO, SO2, and ozone.
According to the WHO, air pollution contributes to about seven million global deaths annually.
