A mild heat wave is currently affecting nine districts in Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Feni, Jashore, and Chuadanga, with the conditions expected to persist.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued its forecast this morning, noting the presence of a low-pressure system over West Bengal and the surrounding area, while another seasonal low lies over the South Bay.
Additionally, the BMD predicts the formation of a new low-pressure area over the South Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.
Rain showers, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, are likely in isolated areas of Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions. Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky.
Temperatures across the country are forecast to remain largely unchanged, with the highest temperature of 38.0°C recorded yesterday in Baghabari, Rangpur Division. The minimum temperature today was 18.5°C in Sylhet Division.
The BMD also noted that Dhaka’s sunset today will occur at 6:17 pm, with tomorrow’s sunrise scheduled for 5:45 am.
