Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued parking instructions ahead of the return of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka this morning (May 6) following medical treatment in London.
In a press release issued on Monday, signed by Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman, the DMP said Khaleda Zia is expected to land at 10:30 am and will travel from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to her residence in Gulshan.
Due to the possibility of large crowds and traffic congestion in the Gulshan-Banani area, specific parking arrangements have been announced to ensure smooth traffic flow:
Journalists arriving at the airport are requested to use the airport’s multi-storey car park.
Vehicles of guests welcoming Khaleda Zia at the airport should be parked in the open space of Swadesh Properties adjacent to the 300-feet road.
Journalists heading to Gulshan are requested to park in a single lane on the road surrounding Gulshan Society Park.
Guests arriving in Gulshan should park in one lane on the road around Justice Shahabuddin Park.
The DMP has urged all concerned to avoid parking on highways or any undesignated areas, including along the route of movement.
