CHUADANGA: A day labourer was injured in a bomb explosion inside the compound of Sadar thana on Saturday morning.

Police said the bomb exploded at about 8:45am while Sirajul Islam, 60, was weeding the compound, leaving him seriously injured. He was admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital with splinters injuries.

Chuadanga Police Super Nazrul Islam told banglanews24.com.bd that police recovered some bombs few days back and kept inside the thana compound after defusing the devices.

“One of the bombs went off after it was hit with a sharp knife with which Sirajul was cleaning weeds,” he added.
 
Doctor Md. Shamim Kabir of the hospital said a number of splinters were removed from Sirajul’s body and he would recover soon after getting proper treatment.
