KHULNA: Detectives arrested ameer of Phultala upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami Akber Ali Morol on allegation of planning to sabotage on Sunday night.

Akber Ali, son of Akkas Ali Morol of Junipasha village of the upazila, was accused in 10 cases, said district detective police officer-in-charge (OC) Rokanuzzman.

Acting on tip of that a quarter is planning to create sabotage that a team of detective police conducted drive at the playground Re-union School of the upazila around 9:30pm.

Sensing the presence of police, attendees of the meeting blasted two cocktails, he added. 

Later, police arrested the upazila unit Jamaat ameer Akber Ali with 10 cocktails from the spot.

SI Molla Lutfar Rahman filed a case against his under explosives act, the OC added.
