DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) demanded the provision of Members of Parliament (MPs) to join upcoming municipal polls campaign.

AL joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif informed the media after a meeting with Chief Election Commission (CEC) at the Election Commission (EC) in city around 1:30pm on Sunday.

Earlier around 12:30pm, a six-member AL delegation, comprising of AL joint general secretary Dr Dipu Moni, organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap and Afzal Hossain, met CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad.

Earlier in the day, AL’s key ally also demanded the participation of MPs in the municipal elections.
