DHAKA: A total of 2,000 law enforcers will be deployed at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka, the venue of upcoming 20th National Council of ruling Awami League (AL).
Shahbagh police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abu Bakkar Siddique told Banglanews that they have taken adequate security measures on the occasion of council.
“As many as 2,000 police members will be deployed in the area in this regard,” he added.
Meanwhile, setting up of stages is continuing in the southern part of Suhrawardy Udyan and the whole area has been decorated with colorful lights, reports Banglanews Correspondent.
A few policemen have already been deployed to ensure security.
Police with plain cloths, RAB and BGB members are also working here, OC Abu Bakkar added.
Public administration minister, also AL general secretary, Syed Ashraful Islam made a visit to the council site around Wednesday morning.
He said a strong leadership to manage the party will be presented in the 20th national council.
Party’s presidium member, also housing and public works minister, Eng. Mosharraf Hossain, food minister Advocate Qamrul Islam and AL joint general secretaries Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif and Jahangir Kabir Nanak were, among others, also present during the visit.
