CHITTAGONG: A district court on Wednesday deferred the hearing on framing charges against Abdur Rahman Bodi, ruling Awami League lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, in a graft case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
MP Bodi appeared before the court of Chittagong divisional special judge Mir Ruhul Amin on Wednesday (April 5) while his lawyers plead time for the hearing upon forming charges.
Special public prosecutor (PP) of the court Advocate Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury told Banglanews that though the court granted the appeal but will fix the date of hearing later.
Earlier, on March 20, MP Bodi surrendered before the same court and was granted bail.
On December 17 in 2007, ACC deputy director Abul Kalam Azad filed the case against Bodi with the Double Mooring police station in Chittagong city.
In the case statement, Bodi was accused for possessing Tk79 lakh beyond known income and for concealing information of Tk56 lakh wealth.
