DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has termed budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year as ‘budget for looting’.

Speaking at an Iftar party on Thursday (June 01), she said that the government has proposed a huge budget with a view to looting money.

“Finance minister does not know anything about the budget. He placed the budget proposal in the Parliament as per wishes of Sheikh Haisna. The budget has been placed for theft of Awami League. It has been placed for looting by the ruling party men,” she said.  

Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a pro-BNP platform of lawyers, arranged the Iftar party at the auditorium of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) to mark the 36th death anniversary of BNP’s founder Ziaur Rahman.  

The SCBA president Advocate Joynul Abedin chaired the function, while BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the party’s standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Barrister Jamir Uddin Sirker and other senior leaders of the party attended it.
