DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that there is no alternative to downfall of the incumbent government to save the environment.
He said this while speaking at a seminar on Monday (June 05). The party arranged the seminar on “World Environment Day and Thought about Environment of Bangladesh” at the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) in the city.
BNP vice-chairman Abdullah-al-Noman chaired the function, while noted journalist and columnist Mahfuz Ullah presented the keynote paper of the seminar.
The party’s environment and forest affairs secretary Kazi Rownakul Islam moderated the seminar, while professor of Dhaka University Dr Md Adul Bashar, columnist Dr Rezwan Siddique and mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul also spoke it, among others.
Mirza Fakhru said that the government has snatched the peoples’ rights of living and freedom of express. There is no alternative to downfall of the government, he said.
He blamed the government for destroying the environment in various ways.
