Moudud files writ to get back home Moudud before the home in Gulshan-2

DHAKA: BNP senior leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed filed a writ with the High Court on Thursday (June 8) challenging legality of eviction of his residence in Gulshan, without any prior notice.

Moudud filed the writ with the HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Hossain and Justice M Ataur Rahman Khan.

The court is set to hear the writ at around 2 in the noon.

Moudud’s chamber lawyer Barrister Ehsanur Rahman told Banglanews that two interim orders were sought in the writ plea—keeping the design of the home unchanged and instructions to get back the home.

Earlier, on early Thursday, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) sealed-off the house holding no.159 in Dhaka’s Gulshan 2, after completion of 14-hour long eviction drive that began on Wednesday (June 7).

On June 4, the Supreme Court rejected the review petition against earlier verdict asking Moudud Ahmed and his brother to leave their home holding plot no.159 in Gulshan-2.

Besides, on December 17, 2013, Deputy Director of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Harun-or-Rashid filed a case with Gulshan Police Station against Moudud and his brother Manjur on charge of grabbing the house.
