Fakhrul slams government for obstructing Iftar party

DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the incumbent is cheating with the countrymen in the name of religious freedom.     

The BNP leader made the comment while speaking at an Iftar party on Friday (June 09).

Jamiyate Ulamaye Islam, a partner of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, arranged the Iftar party at a hotel in the city.

The party’s secretary general Noor Hossain Quashemi presided over the function, while top leaders of the 20-party alliance joined it. Among them, the party’s nayebe ameer Maulana Mujibur Rahman Peshwary, LDP’s joint secretary general Shahdat Hossain Selim and secretary general of Bangladesh NAP M Golam Mustafa Bhuiyan.

Mirza Fakhrul criticized the government for obstructing Iftar party in different parts of the country.

He came down heavily on the government for stopping an Iftar party of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami which was scheduled to be held on June 12 next.
