News on Khaleda’s meeting with ISI, Jammat baseless: BNP

DHAKA: The BNP has termed the news on the party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s meeting with Pakistani intelligence force- ISI and Jamaat leaders in London as false, fabricated and baseless.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city on Sunday (July 30) said that Khaleda Zia did not hold any meeting with ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) and Jamaat leaders. The news is false, fabricated, baseless and motivated, he added.

The BNP arranged the press conference following publishing of news in some media on the issue.

The party’s standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed also attended the press conference, among others.

Mirza Fakhrul criticized the Awami League leaders for their false and motivated statements after Khaleda Zia reached London. He asked the ruling party men to be refrained from delivering false statement about Khaleda Zia and spreading propaganda.    

He said that that the BNP Chairperson went to London for medical treatment purpose.
