JESSORE: Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the government has no conflict with the judiciary. Admitting heated debate between the two organs, he, however, said that the debate strengthens the democracy.
He said these while speaking at a rally in Jessore on Sunday (July 30). The rally was arranged on the Jessore court premises on the occasion of opening the Jessore Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.
The minister made the statement hours after the Supreme Court’s expressed dissatisfaction at the law ministry over the discipline and code of conduct of judges submitted by the law ministry.
Anisul Huq said that Bangladesh is marching forward led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in establishing the rule of law. “We are working to further strengthen the rule of law,” he said.
Senior District and Session Judge of Jessore Aminul Islam presided over the rally, while MP of Jessore-2 constituency Advocate Monirul Islam, woman MP Kamrul Laila Joly, law secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Mohammad Jahurul Haque and joint secretary of law ministry Bikash Kumar Saha also spoke at the function, among others.
