Hajj pilgrims to be carried in regular flight

DHAKA: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Wednesday (August 02) said that the Hajj pilgrims will be carried in scheduled flights to avert complexity.

He said this following an inter-ministerial meeting held the Bangladesh Secretariat.

The minister said that the meeting decided to turn all Saudi-bound flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines to hajji carriers. The decision was taken in the wake of backlogging in transporting Hajj pilgrims.

A total of 12 hajj flights were cancelled till now due to shortage of passengers. Some 5,380 Hajj pilgrims could have been transported in these flights, Menon said.
