DHAKA: The 17th session of 10th Parliament will begin on September 10.
President Abdul Hamid Advocate summoned the session under section 72(1) of the Constitution. His order in this regard was sent to the Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday (August 22).
The session will begin at 5:00 pm on that day with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Before beginning of the JS session, the Speaker will chair the meeting of business advisory committee where the timeframe of the 17th session will be finalized. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other members of the committee will join the meeting.
The verdict on the 16th constitutional amendment and Chief Justice SK Sinha’s observations in the verdict may be discussed in the Parliament in the session. Sheikh Hasina has already hinted at this.
