DHAKA: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court directed Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court to give passport back to Nagorik Oikyo convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna for three months so that he can go abroad for treatment.
A 3-member appellate bench headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order Thursday (August 24).
The metropolitan magistrate court was also directed to take the passport from Manna within one week when he will come back home after taking treatment abroad.
Lawyer Iddisur Rahman and Additional Attorney General Momtaz Uddin Fakir moved for Manna and the state respectively at the court Thursday.
