DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi remarked that the de facto leader of Myanmar and Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi’s Nobel certificate should be torn up into pieces.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi expressed his infuriation at a human chain entitled ‘Protest against Rohingy muslims genocide in Mynanmar and demand of asylum in Bangladesh,’ on Saturday (September 09).
The human chain was organized by Bangladesh Sammilita Peshajibi Parishad (BSPP) in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka.
Rizvi said, “Monstrous people keep silent while in danger, but change color as soon as they have authority. We have witnessed the changing nature of Suu Kyi. Now she is blaming Bengalis for extremism and saying that actions are being taken against those.”
Rizvi also said Suu Kyi got Nobel Prize, for peace, democracy, now her security forces are committing atrocities. They are burning houses, slaughtering the residents of Rakhine state. Rohingyas are fleeing to Bangladesh away from the gruesome violence of Myanmar with a trail of bloody exodus and many have died.
“Even the writer who wrote autobiography of Suu Kyi was astonished by her recent speech on the Rohingya issue. The writer said with regret that Suu kyi lost herself amid greed of power and bought by the will of Myanmar army.”
In the program, headed by Dr. Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, Mahmudur Rahman Convener of BSPP, Professor Abdul Kuddus spoke among others.
