DHAKA: The family has decided to send Awami League veteran leader and former Chittagong city mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury abroad for better treatment.
The 74-year old leader had long been suffering from ailments related to heart and kidneys, and is currently admitted at the Square Hospital in Dhaka.
His son and organizing secretary of Awami League Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel on Monday (November 13) told Banglanews that they decided to shift their father abroad for better treatment.
Mohiuddin Chowdhury, also president of Chittagong city unit of Awami League, was hospitalized at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a private hospital in Chittagong.
Later, he was brought to Dhaka on a helicopter on Sunday afternoon (November 12) from Chittagong for better treatment.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, housing and public works minister Eng Mosharraf Hossain, mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sayeed Khokon and other leaders of the ruling party visited Mohiuddin Chowdhury at Square Hospital on Sunday evening (November 12).
