A man and his 10-year-old daughter were killed after being hit by a train in Naogaon's Raninagar upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased were Korban, 32, and his daughter Kuhili, residents of Dakkhin Rajapur village.

According to locals Korban Ali, who is speech-impaired, is a fisherman by profession. He had been having a long-standing dispute with his wife over family matters. Due to this, his wife left home on Sunday (December 1). 

He might have committed suicide by jumping in front of a train with his daughter, they added.

In this regard, Raninagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moslem Uddin said, "After receiving the information, they reached the spot. 

The bodies of the father and daughter will be sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
