A Chattogram court today rescheduled the bail hearing of of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagaran Jote, has been rescheduled for 2 January next year.

The Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge Saiful Islam set the new date on Tuesday (December 3).

Earlier today, no lawyer appeared on behalf of Chinmoy. Later, the court set 2 January as the next date of hearing.

On 25 October, Chinmoy, was accused in a sedition case for allegedly disrespecting Bangladesh's national flag by hoisting a saffron flag above it during a rally organised by the Bangladesh Sanatan Jagaran Mancha in Chattogram city. 

Chinmoy was arrested on November 25, by police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at around 4:30pm.
