Political parties in Bangladesh have condemned recent propaganda and interference by India, pledging to remain united against all forms of provocation and misinformation.

This commitment was made during a meeting between key political leaders and the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, on Wednesday (December 4). 

The meeting was held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, started at 4 pm and continued until 7 pm.

Following the meeting, Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul spoke to reporters, saying that the participants strongly criticized India’s attempts to exert economic pressure, cultural dominance, and interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs. 

The political party leaders called on India to treat Bangladesh with respect and to act as a fair and neighborly partner, he said.

Asif Nazrul said, “The political leaders have pledged to protect communal harmony at all costs. They lauded the role of various communities in maintaining peace amidst ongoing provocations. The leaders also expressed a firm resolve to counter any efforts aimed at disrupting communal harmony.”

The meeting marked a rare moment of unity among political parties, including BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, as they reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and social cohesion, he added.
