RAB-11 commander among 3 lose job

DHAKA: Three officers of Rapid Action Battalion-11, including commanding officer Lieutenant Colon Tarequie Sayed, have lost their job over their doubtful roles during the sensational seven-murder in Narayanganj.

Of them, Arif Hossain of the army and former battalion chief Lieutenant Colonel MM Rana of Bangladesh Navy were forced to retire and RAB-11 commanding officer was sent back to Bangladesh Army on Tuesday. 

Army and Navy headquarters issued separate gazette notifications in this regard, sources confirmed the media.

The retired officers will enjoy full of their retirement privileges.

Earlier, a high-level investigation committee was formed to look into the alleged involvement of RAB-11 in abduction and murder of seven people including the City panel mayor Nazrul Islam on Monday.

The committee was formed after Nazrul’s father-in-law Shahidul’s allegation that RAB men killed Nazrul in exchange for Tk 6 crore from councilor Nur Hossain.
