The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning and gusty winds in several parts of the country over the next 24 hours.
Rain is likely at a few places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram.
Some areas in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet may experience heavy rainfall, the BMD said.
A trough of westerly low lies from West Bengal to the North Bay across southwestern Bangladesh.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
Besides, a mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna and parts of Noakhali, Feni, Patuakhali, Cox’s Bazar, Lakshmipur, and Bandarban, which may subside in some areas.
Thursday’s highest temperature was 37.6°C in Satkhira and Jashore, while the lowest was 22.0°C at Dimla.
Jashore recorded the highest rainfall at 54 mm in the last 24 hours.
