DHAKA: The War Crime Facts Finding Committee handed over a list of 19 top war criminals to the International War Crimes Tribunal formed to try those who were involved in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.

Among those on the list are BNP leaders Salahuddin Qader Chowdhury, Abdur Rauf Chowdhury and Jatiya Party leader Sayed Kaiser.

Convener of the Facts Finding Committee Dr MA Hasan handed over the list to Senior Investigating Officer Abdur Rahim. The Committee also submitted another list of district-based war criminals to the probe body.

Later, Hasan told reporters that none of Awami League members was on the list of top 19.

Replying to a question, he said names of other suspects would not be disclosed now “for the sake of investigation”.
 
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad recently claimed that there was no war criminal in his party.

“Ershad said so from his political view. But Sayed Kaiser was the Agriculture Minister during his tenure,” said Hasan.
