SYEDPUR (NILPHAMARI): Three Jamaat-e-Islami leaders were detained from Aisdhal village under Syedpur upazila of the district early Sunday (January 1).

They are identified as former upazilla Jamaat unit Amir Mahmudul Hasan, 45, his brother former president of Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation Wazed Ali, 40, and Jamaat ward president Azizul Islam, 42.

Officer in charge (OC) of Syedpur Thana informed Banglanews that police detained them over suspicion that they may carry out subversive activities on 31st night.

They were sent to jail through court in the morning, he further added.
