DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to hold a meeting with the party’s standing committee members Sunday night (January 29).

BNP chairperson’s press wing member Shamsuddin Didar told Banglanews the meeting would begin at her Gulshan political office at 9:00 pm.

Khaleda Zia convened the meeting after the Election Commission (EC) Search Committee had sought five names from each of the political parties that held meetings with the President Abdul Hamid.

Five prospective names will have to be submitted to the Search Committee by 11:00 am of January 31.

Competent sources said BNP will finalize names of five persons in the meeting.

Besides, the Standing Committee will also discuss enduring social and political situation in the country.
