DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Tuesday (January 31) submitted five names to the Search Committee for the formation of Election Commission (EC) that would oversee next general polls.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and chairperson’s personal secretary Abdus Sattar handed over the list of names to the additional secretary of cabinet division Abdul Wadud around 12:40 pm.

Later, Rizvi said journalists that he does not know anything as the party high command has given him two sealed envelopes to handover to the Search Committee.

“I only can say that the names will reflect the 13-point demand that BNP proposed about the formation of EC,” he added.
