DHAKA: The political parties on Tuesday morning (January 31) started submitting list of five names each to the Search Committee in forming Election Commission (EC) for the next general polls.

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Islami Oikyojot, Bangladesh Islami Front, Khelafat Majlish, National Awami Party (NAP), Muzaffar, Bangladesh Jamiatul Ulama, Khelafat Andolon, JASAD (Inu) have already proposed names to the cabinet division.

Additional secretary of the cabinet division Md. Abdul Wadud confirmed the matter to Banglanews that 13 political parties have submitted names for prospective Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and other commissioners of the EC till 11.15 pm on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Search Committee on Monday extended time of submitting names from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
