DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Friday (February 3) placed 28 female leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, who were detained from Mohammadpur in Dhaka, on two-day remand each in a case filed under special power act.
The court of the chief metropolitan magistrate of Dhaka Delwar Hossain passed the order in the afternoon.
Earlier, Mohammadpur police station Inspector Shariful Islam produced the Jamaat leaders and activists before the court with a seven-day remand plea.
Earlier on Thursday (February 2), law enforcers detained the 28 female leaders and activists of Jamaat while they were holding a clandestine meeting at a house at Tajmahal Road of Mohammadpur in Dhaka.
The law enforcers also seized organizational documents from the scene, informed DMP’s Tejgaon division deputy commissioner Biplob Kumar sarkar.
