SUNAMGANJ: Police arrested Mahmudur Rahman Delwar, former president of Sylhet metropolitan unit Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, from Sunamganj town Friday night (February 17).

Sunamganj sadar thana officer-in-charge (OC) Harunur Rashid told Banglanews that acting on a tip-off a team of police detained him from Shologhar area of the town around 10 pm.

He further said that there are 40 GR (general register) cases filed against Mahmudur, son of one Abdur Rauf, hailed from Buristhal in Sunamganj sadar town.

The court issued arrest warrant against him, OC added.
